Thus far there seem to be two products that will work to glue the wires back to the mylar and that is Alcolin Contact and Genkem Wood Weld. I have bought a tube of Contact to test and now all I need is the time to clean the areas with Acetone and start glueing, but damn I struggle to find the time >:(

You can get the contact glue and the cleaner/remover from Genkem at your local Builders Warehouse. I'd stick to the same manufacturer, just to be safe.

Looking at the speaker binding posts, it may benefit me to replace those with decent binding posts. Any idea were I can find these? I have been to the usual suspects in Cape Town(Zakspeed, Yebo), but all they have are these crappy, plasticy connectors.

I haven't seen any good ones locally, but you can try Mantech for shits & giggles. The other option is to try Apex jr. I saw some really nice ones on his site and he is not silly with the shipping.

Yep. Bought me some o' those. They're very nice. Non-magnetic and gold plated. They come in two sizes: long & short.

Mantech have got some NICE plastic ones. Not the cheap ones that fall apart. Looks like nylon - bullet proof things.

I had some time last night to fix the delamination on my Maggies and it is quite a timeconsuming job! First have to remove old glue with Acetone, let it dry and then coat each wire and Mylar with Alcolin Contact, etc.

When I checked this morning it seemed as if the problem has been fixed, but I will only be able to test the speakers over the weekend.

Saturday was spent making feet for the Maggies(okay completed one  ;) ) and creating a new sock and I am quite chuffed with my handiwork given my limited experience. I have asked Skinny if he would post a photo I took of the progress, so you will be able to see the results soon ;D

That looks quite lush!

Abe, has the renovation made any audible results? Is that rattling that you spoke about resolved?

Details Man!

Sorry, I forgot to add that bit ;D

Glueing the voicecoils back to the Mylar sorted out the rattling/vibration. The loose wires were knocking against the Mylar and that caused the noise. Once I have the feet for both sorted, I will be able to listen some more, but suffice to say that I love them ;)

Yep ;D Actually saw something similiar on the Maggies User Group site and yes it was listed as a "tweak" although designed for MMGs and not SMGs ;)
