Silk Screening CPT
« on: July 27, 2011, 06:21:10 am »
Anyone know where I can get a decent job done?

I'm considering re-doing the anodising on the Rotel gear purchased and would need the printing re-done afterwards.

Metalgrapho

I have had work done at a few places for the company I work for. Nobody came close to Metalgrapho quality.

Phone and ask to talk to Chris.

Thanks, it's teh RB981 and the RC972

I want to have them re-anodised and the printing re-done.

Another option is to have the printing laser engraved or etched which could be quite nice as well.

You got a gorgeous setup there Juggy and at a brilliant price too! Was tempted, but I have now got so much krap lying around even I think an amp in each room including the bathroom is excessive.
Caution, whatever you read above, may, wonder of wonders, contain some level of jocularity.

I know, that' why I want to give them a new lick of paint so to speak.

Is it advisable or should I leave them alone?

Leave it alone. The pre looks dandy. The silkscreen job might be a disaster and then you will cry.

Does look a little beat up though and I'm a tad fussy. Maybe I'll have the rest o the chassis cleaned up and leave the facia.

Some more advice:

Moet nie krap waar dit nie jeuk nie (dont scratch were it doesnt itch)
Gaan sit iewers todat die gevoel verbygaan (go sit until the feeling passes)

Jy gaan lang trane huil as jy daai mooi Rotel pre amp opdonner deur dit te laat re-anodise...  8)

Laser engraving is a great option as the way it works on anodised ally is that it actually just leaches the dyes out of the anodised layer (anodised ally is coloured using dyes that soak into the porous anodising leayer)  leaving a high constrast almost white mark. it does NOT burn thru the anodising layer at all and expose bare metal thus  you still get all the protection of the anodising itself.
The nicest thing about smacking your head against the wall is......the feeling you get when you stop.
Current system: Squeezebox Touch , Z-Sys RDP-1 , PS Audio DAC, Bryston 4B ST , Audiolab 8200mb Monoblocks, Canton Ergo 120dc or Meridian DSP5500 speaker

Very interesting, is it something you could do or areyou more the mass producer type of business?
