Quite a few peeps here use Time Freight couriers http://www.timefreight.co.za/ with no complaints and good prices as well. Provide them with dimensions and weight and they'll quote over the phone. Will also do COD delivery. They'll pick up from just about anywhere.

+1 for Time Freight

i once sent a pair of Dali concept 8's plus and amplifier to Joburg from Durban and it came to under R500 - the amp was 10kg and the speakers were around 56kg

then i also sent a complete Denon 6.2 home theatre set complete weight around 60 kg (including the two subs) to joburg as well and it was around R450

both instances did not include any insurance but in both instances the stuff arrived before 12PM the following day and in perfect condition so i reckon its as safe a way to send stuff as is possible

if i was buying something of this value - i would drive up with my bakkie to collect though  ;) ..... but thats just cos i have a bakkie - others probably dont have that option

Thanks guys - hopefully they still available! :D

...If they are, this would be my first step into the world of 'proper' AV equipment. I'm currently running a set of Logitech Z-5500 connected to my Pioneer Receiver :P

I started off with the Z-5500 as well... Still have them.. and they still do a rettty good job...

Upgraded this year to MA RX6 series and set.
Will most likely not get any new speakers, in the next 5 years or so..

A word of advice my friend. The first person that pays gets the goods. If your prospective buyer rocks up and does not like the goods you have possibly lost a sale in the last 2 or 3 days.Let the person pay and refund him if he does not like the goods. If I buy something from a forum member I always prepay if the goods are not as promised I will request a refund. If the person is a forum member I retract my post however if not it could go either way.My 2c worth.

As i said earlier in the thread we are doing a straight swap,I'm taking his Dynaudio,s and he is taking my CM8,s. Sorry i should have not revered to him as a buyer. It would not be fair of me to go back on my word as we have been planning this for the past two weeks.

I hope they sound better than the CM8,s. The CM8,s sounds nice, but they way to bright for me,mid-range to forward .

Hi
Would love to hear how you experience the Dynes compared to your CM8's. I owned  Audience 72's as well as CM7's. The CM's only came to life once played in. Partnered with the right gear it is a very good little speaker. I used a Musical Fidelity KW 550 integrated with a A5 cd player.I believe the valves had a lot to do with smoothing them out. Unfortunately , as with most B&W's , they can drive you mad (read very bright ) with the wrong gear. The Audience 72 is a lot smoother and more forgiving. It needs power though. It has much better bass IMHO, and can handle more power. You will probably sacrifice a bit of midrange detail as the midrange on the CM's are great.
Hope you will be happy!

I have not heard the Audience 72 however the set I heard (model no.I cannot remember but they were big) and were very impressive.Simarly I have not heard the CM 8's but have owned B&W speakers in the past.Everything depends on room acoustics and what you like.We all have different likes and dislikes regarding sound quality and preference.
