Headphones and cables

  I'm almost loath to ask this...

I've seen and read about people changing the cables on their Cans. Now I've not had the chance to compare 'stock' cables to the upgraded (so they say) cables.

Does anyone have any knowledge/experience with replacement cables for Cans? You would think and hope that when you spend circa R4K on top-end cans they have already addressed the cable story. To me its like opening a Krell amp and replacing any internal wires because they're 'just up to scratch' ie ridiculous

This is not something I should be asking LOL but how much of a difference wouls an upgrade of this sort make ? and how much moola are we talking here?

Heh heh, a shocker from the leader of the Anti-cable brigade but in all fairness I think cans fall into a different category besides  I'm not about to do any upgrade if it costs what my upcoming new cans are gonna cost

because the cable that comes with cans is part of the 'product' interconnects/speaker wire are not, IMO replacing cans wire is a mod to the completed product not simply upgrading an accessory/interconnect

On a more serious note Skinny, any of these needs more power than what a soundcard or iPod can provide.
