I have done some reading on the diyaudio forums, and it seems there is an opinion shared by many members that thinner gauge hook up wire is preferable when building line stage components, or indeed the sections of amplifiers and such that is not output based. As always some prefer silver, other silver sheathed copper, most prefer solid, and many advise a thickness in excess of 22 gauge.
