Researcher has developed a type of camera that you can select the point of focus afterwards. The picture stays "live" so you can change the focus as often as you want - sounds, and looks like magic! Info and interactive photos in the links.

I looked it up and it sounds like glasses free 3D the other way around, a lenticulated lens that focuses on multiple depths at the same time. So probably quite low resolution with the depth limited by the number of lenticules.
