Try junkshops, auctions, 2nd hand shops and antique shops. New ones I'm not sure who in SA.

I discovered one Terry lamp in a junkshop yesterday morning. It was high up on a mezzanine floor, original gray and it had a white bakelite pushbutton switch on the shade crown. I couldn;t get too close and the shop was quite dim inside so couldn't take a good look.

That's the good news. The bad news is that the store owner is an old jakkals. He wanted R1.8K for it. Bastid!

Very nice find, Waterhond. Today's anglepoise lamps are rubbish compared to yours. You can take it apart completely and sand each part down to bare metal using 3M sanding pads (hard work, I know). Otherwise perhaps some sandblasting but you should be present when this is done. Afterwards all parts can be epoxy coated (I think this is the right term?). I've had some of my wife's airers coated with great results. I have definitely seen some of those bakelite switched lampholders at the local flea market at Milnerton.

The lamp in the pic I got for nothing somewhere. I was also recently given an anglepoise lamp with magnifier by a flea market bloke. It was very rusty and the hood with magnifier and lamp was broken. I have repaired the defects and it's as good as new again.

Hi Rufus

Welcome to the forum. The little mill is a Maximat V10. I added the collet chuck a few weeks after I bought it. It's a very sturdy machine which can be set up very accurately. I do have a little Emco Unimat hobby lathe but I'm not using it. My lathe is a Myford Speed 10.

Thanx for the welcome. ;)

I had an Emcomat 8.6 which had the milling head, then got my hands on a Maximat V10P which had no mill, quick swap over saw the V10P equipped with the mill and sold off the 8.6
Childhood dream to have my own lathe and mill - at least one dream came true!
